More US, China Governors Confirmed for US-China Governors Forum

Government officials representing Henan Province, Shaanxi Province, Jiangzi Province, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and the City of Tianjin will join California Governor Edmund G. Brown and the governors of Michigan, Washington, Guam, and Puerto Rico at the US-China Governors Forum this November.

Henan Province, Jiangxi Province, Shaanxi Province, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Tianjin collectively have a population of nearly 200 million and a GDP of $1.3 trillion.  Together, California, Michigan, Washington, Guam, and Puerto Rico are home to approximately 59 million citizens and generate $2.9 trillion in GDP.

The US-China Governors’ Forum aims to bring together Chinese governors, US governors, and each country’s foremost business pioneers to cooperate on shared interests.  The Forum comes at a critical time in our two countries’ relationship.  Its goal will be to bring together the world’s two largest economies to discuss investment, subnational economic cooperation, and shared ecological challenges.

In attendance will be:

Governor Edmund G. Brown of California;

Party Secretary Guo Gengmao of Henan Province;

Party Secretary Zhao Yongzheng of Shaanxi Province;

Governor Lu Xinshe of Jiangxi Province;

Governor Liu Hui of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region;

Mayor Huang Xingguo of Tianjin;

Governor Rick Snyder of Michigan;

Governor Jay Inslee of Washington;

Governor Eddie Paza Galvo of Guam; and

Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla of Puerto Rico

Each governor is expected to bring revered business executives from their region’s top companies with them as well.
